2022 - 2023 EĞİTİM-ÖĞRETİM YILI GÜZ DÖNEMİ DOĞU DİLLERİ BÖLÜMÜ ARA SINAV PROGRAMI ÇİN DİLİ VE EDEBİYATI
The Chinese Language and Literature Program was founded in the 2007-2008 academic year with the first accepted class. The academic program meets all international standards for Chinese language specialists.
Changes in the social, cultural, economic and political spheres in this new century are closely related to intensive development and globalization in the humanities. The role of specialists with language skills grows day by day. Both translators and teachers are in great demand for fields such as tourism and teaching, where there is intensive growth and a need for those who can speak Chinese.
Additionally, in order to strengthen the political, economic and cultural ties between Turkic countries and China, there is an urgent need for specialists that are well-versed in the culture, literature, history and languages of China. The goal of the Chinese Language and Literature Program is to train highly-qualified specialists in the Chinese language, who can carry out research in the social sciences, humanities, and in other disciplines.
Our program employs experienced experts, who speak several foreign languages and are well-versed in different methods for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The faculty and staff of this program come from Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. Each year, the professors and instructors undergo additional language training in top-quality universities in order to improve their qualifications.
Since 2010, the Chinese Language and Literature Program has worked closely with the Confucius Institute. The Confucius Institute has helped place four volunteer teachers at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, all of them native speakers of Chinese. From the very beginning of our partnership, the Conficius Institute has greatly improved the motivation and language skills of our students. Thanks to this partnership, our students can continue their education in graduate programs in China. Students can also study for a semester or academic year, with scholarships covering a minimum of $400. Students can also visit various cities and historical places in China.
In the twelve years since the founding of our program, a large number of our students have visited China, studied there, or completed internships. Education and internships help our students advance their careers and improve their Chinese language skills.
In January 2015, we started offering a multimedia class on Confucius, using state of the art technology. This class allows the program to participate in yearly projects, which gives us the opportunity to win grants up to $1000. These grants are used to hold competitions and programs for students, to help improve and deepen their knowledge of the Chinese language and the culture of China.
The main research topic of the Chinese language and literature program is “Improving language proficiency and literature understanding” which includes the following areas: typological linguistics, theory of literature, comparative literature, and information technologies in teaching Chinese language.
