History of the department: The Department of Philology, which includes three different programs: English Language and Literature, Chinese Language and Literature and Russian Language and Literature was established in 2022 at the Faculty of Humanities of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. These programs had been functioning since 2007.

The main goal of the Department of Philology is to provide fundamental education in English, Russian, and Chinese philology, to prepare highly qualified specialists in the field of philology with a wide range of linguistic and literary knowledge and ability to work with texts and carry out communication. The Department of Philology provides in-depth study of general humanitarian, linguistic, literary and applied disciplines.

Employment opportunities for graduates: A philologist is a versatile specialist. Good professional training allows graduates of the department to be in demand in the labor market.

Having received philological education, our graduates use their skills in different spheres of activity: in science and education, in mass media, at public service, in travel and translation agencies, in domestic and foreign companies of various profiles.

High quality training is ensured by the qualified teaching staff of the department, which includes: 3 professors; 1 doctor and 5 candidates of philological sciences, 1 senior lecturer and 4 teachers.

Teachers of the department have many years of experience and are known both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.
